An icon of the '70s and '80s? Something sleek, durable and comfortable? Certainly - here's the R107. Based on the chassis of the W114 saloon, but with the engines from the larger and more powerful S Class cars, the SL was a near perfect blend of speed, refinement, safety and style - lauded by the press, proudly picked up by legions of executives, and still incredibly capable in modern traffic.
