The Appeal
Without the 911 around, the 928 would be hailed as Porsche’s masterpiece. Slippery, stylish and brutally quick, it is one of the best GTs of the last 40 years. And unlike certain Italian peers, you can be sure any transcontinental trip will go off without a hitch.
The S4 hiked power over the crucial 300bhp threshold via the larger 5L V8 engine. The styling was revised by the clever, well-balanced layout was the same, delivering surefooted handling.
This tidy 1988 S4 was repainted in grey metallic in 2021 and comes to market with new parts and a fresh service in 2024. The MOT runs to May 2026 without any advisories. It is a really tidy example that, at under 100,000 miles from new, is barely run in for a 928. A great example with a set of five-spoke 18-inch alloys to dial up the aesthetic drama.
