The Appeal
As the first car launched during what would become Aston Martin’s very successful period under Ford ownership, the Virage was eyed keenly by the motoring press and marque enthusiasts. It replaced the handsome, yet ageing V8 models which were effectively based on a design launched with the DBS way back in 1967 and therefore long overdue for replacement.
Aston Martin wisely chose to keep Taked Marek’s glorious quad-cam V8 and enveloped it in a contemporary body that borrowed much of its design language from the Lagonda. The result was a successful GT, heralded as Aston Martin’s handbuilt luxury flagship throughout the 1990s.
This early example has covered a mere 33,919 miles, spending much of its time in dry specialist storage facilities and benefiting from judicious maintenance. Acquired by the present owner at auction in 2018 following approximately fourteen years in storage with Oseli Ltd. Having been used sparingly since then and only covering a further 800 miles or so, this Virage is now offered for sale once more.
It’s exceptionally original and well-preserved, having received a great deal of care and attention over the years. If you’re looking for a low mileage example of Aston’s big ‘90s GT, we can heartily recommend this Virage.

What strikes us particularly when we look upon this Aston Martin is its originality. Thanks to long periods in professional dry storage facilities. The interior has weathered the passage of time beautifully, with barely any noticeable wear and the same goes for the bodywork. Resplendent in the tasteful colour combination of Conniston Sand over Green-piped Parchment hide, this stylish Virage certainly looks the part and has clearly been looked after very well indeed.

This was to be the last outing for Taked Marek’s amazing quad-cam V8 and a specially designed 32-valve cylinder head with hydraulic tapets was developed in the United States especially for the Virage to use.
This example is said to be in excellent running and driving order and although currently without MOT, a recent service which replaced a number of consumable items should ensure this car will be able to hit the road once more very shortly.
