Porsche’s first V8-powered production vehicle was introduced in 1978 and was intended to become the replacement for the iconic 911. It never achieved that lofty goal, but it certainly managed to carve out a reputation as one of the most interesting Stuttgart cars in their repertoire. With its achingly cool styling, pop-up headlights and comfortable cabin, it was a beautifully balanced sports car loaded with character.
Launched in 1986 for the 1987 model year, the S4 model was sold alongside the performance-oriented GT, and boasted a major restyling for a ‘cleaner’ appearance, wrapping around an upgraded 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 316bhp. It's amongst the most handsome of the 928s, and this one is no exception!
