The Appeal
For much of its history, Daimler represented the pinnacle of British motoring luxury. Long associated with royalty, dignitaries and captains of industry, the marque built a reputation for producing refined, impeccably appointed motor cars that prioritised comfort and craftsmanship above all else. Following its acquisition by Jaguar, the Daimler name was reserved for the most luxurious versions of the company’s saloons, offering an additional layer of exclusivity over their Jaguar counterparts.
The Double Six sat at the very top of the range, pairing Jaguar’s renowned V12 engine with a lavishly appointed cabin featuring sumptuous leather upholstery, extensive walnut veneer trim and deep-pile carpeting. The result was a car that delivered effortless performance alongside the sort of dignified, old-school luxury for which Daimler became famous.
Originally supplied to the Japanese market before returning to the UK, this example is presented in a suitably elegant colour combination. Benefiting from a mileage of just 22,535 miles, it offers an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a lightly used example of the V12 flagship. Whether added to a collection or enjoyed on the open road, it is sure to impress with its turbine-smooth engine and effortlessly refined character.
