The original Range Rover was introduced in 1970 and continued in production through until 1997. Finding great success as a luxury 4x4 in the 80’s the original Range Rover was rebranded as the Range Rover Classic in the early 90’s to differentiate it from the new P38. 

With an instantly recognisable shape, luxurious interior and ride quality the original range rover is one of the most iconic vehicles that’s seen great success the world over. Built on solid Land Rover foundations it’s just as capable off road as on.

The car was originally sold to a doctor in Yorkshire before moving on to other owners on the North York Moors where it stayed for many years before moving on to a new owner in Kidderminster who began the process of the rolling restoration. The current owner bought the car in 2018 as a replacement to his P38 and has used it daily since, as well as continuing the extensive work that has brought it up to its current condition. 

It’s a somewhat reluctant sale and only due to the owner wanting something with isofix seatbelts and more efficient to help with the grandchildren. The care and love this car has received shows in it’s condition and this is a car that will certainly be missed. 

There is extensive paperwork with the vehicle including full service history for the past eight years alongside a stack of invoices from 2015 to present for work carried out to bring the car up to its present condition, this includes but is not limited to: new headlining, new sunroof, Kenlowe fans, stainless exhaust, new radiator, water pump, new sills, extensive welding and the underside has been entirely scraped back and waxoyled. 

This is just a taste of the documented work, there is much more covering almost all aspects of the car and totalling over £25,000 in this period.

The interior is in fantastic condition for the age and mileage, we’d be happy saying that even if it was only half its age and had covered half its miles. Whilst we don’t have the details, all of the seats have been reupholstered at some point in the recent past and look absolutely fantastic. 

This combined with a new headlining fitted in late 2015 makes the interior of this Range Rover Classic really stand out. The dashboard, carpet and all of the trim appears to be in good condition and the interior provides the comfortable and luxuriant driving experience that is synonymous with the Range Rover name. 

Whilst it comes with the original Range Rover radio cassette, unfortunately this has been locked due to the wrong code being entered and the only other point requiring attention is that the offside rear window sticks. These however, are minor points when considering the fantastic overall condition of the interior and can be easily addressed. 

The exterior is in good overall condition for the age and looks particularly good in this shade of green. Alongside extensive repainting, the wheels have been fully refurbished and overall the car looks fantastic. The Range Rover Classic has an instantly recognisable shape and in this condition it’s a car that stands out wherever it goes. 

As can be seen in the images there are a couple of small patches of paint just beginning to bubble under/inside the doors, however these are small areas that would be easy enough to remedy and don’t detract from the overall presentation of the car.

The car has been well cared for mechanically and the 3.9L V8 springs to life with a turn of the key and sounds absolutely fantastic. 

The car drives well and alongside all of the work carried out to bring it up to its current standard the owner has fitted choice upgrades to prevent  issues in the future, such as the Kenlow fans, full underbody waxoil and the stainless exhaust. 

We think the pictures speak for themselves on this one, it is a fantastic looking Range Rover Classic that is sure to make an impression wherever it goes. But looks alone don’t tell the whole story of this fantastic Range Rover, with extensive work having been carried out by the current owner this is a fantastic example that looks as good as it drives. 

This car has truly wanted for nothing and it shows in every respect. There are few vehicles as iconic as the original Range Rover and this is a fantastic example that should not be missed, don’t hesitate or you’ll miss it, this is one that won’t be around for long.
