The Appeal
In the air cooled era, Porsche saved the best until last. The 993 looked pretty much like every earlier 911, which was a good thing, but that disguise only highlighted just how different this new car was. The firm’s engineers changed virtually every part of the car to make it faster, lighter, nimbler and altogether better. It lasted longer, too thanks to galvanised bodywork and chassis.
For fans of the air cooled era, a 993 is a must. That’s why the current keeper of this Speed Yellow example bought it, adding it to his existing collection of classic 911s. It is an exceptionally low mileage car with just 30,000 documented miles from new and in very good condition.
The cosmetic condition is down to that limited use, but also a 2022 incident that enabled the car to be extensively refurbished and resprayed. Whilst in storage a neighbouring electric car caught fire, damaging this one. The 993 was then restored to a high standard, as you can see in the photos. The interior was recently professionally refurbished to match.
The mechanical side of things matches the condition. The car has been regularly maintained despite its paltry mileage, most recently in April 2023. It has covered few miles since. The vendor acquired it last year and has recently undertaken a 1,000 mile tour of Scotland without issue. It is now reluctantly for sale.
Here is a great opportunity to acquire a very good 993 in a rare colour with the versatile Tiptronic gearbox. That it comes to market with a lengthy, advisory-free MOT to March 2026 merely dials adds further reassurance.
The vendor says:
“A wonderful air-cooled 911 in perfect condition and super low 30,000 mileage and just a few previous owners.
“Rare Speed yellow paintwork in concours condition. The interior is factory fresh condition and a joy to sit in on long drives. Has to be one of the best examples available today!”
