The Appeal
There’s a strong argument to say that the SUV started here, with the original ZJ Grand Cherokee. Mixing true offroad ability with car-like levels of comfort and cruising, the ZJ was as durable as it was capable.
Much of that reputation comes down to the virtually unburstable straight six 4litre beneath the bonnet of this unusual Grand Cherokee Limited. Unusual because it has been barely used in its 27 years, covering less than 1,000 miles per year in all that time.
The condition reflects that cossetted life. The attractive mauve metallic paintwork and charcoal grey leather show few signs of age. A chunky history file with regular attention by its three registered keepers supports the sense of a well loved vehicle.
The ZJ, particularly the luxurious Limited, is popular with classic collectors because it is so reliable and usable. Few are surely as good or as sparingly used as this one. A long MOT with no advisories to March 2025 adds to its stand-out appeal.
