The Appeal
Like the E-Type and Ferrari 308, the Ducati 916 is one of those machines that even those who know nothing about cars or bikes - and apparently those people do exist - will recognise. Built at a wonderful moment in time when petrol was cheap, trackdays were burgeoning and money was flowing, the 916 is arguably one of, if not the greatest superbike of the last 30 years.
The joy of these bikes is that they not only go brilliantly, they look so good too. The design, by Tamburini and and Robbiano, is almost perfect, delivering a sense of speed even whilst stationary. To see what we mean, take a look at this 1998 late-model 916 ‘Biposto.
With just 13,000 miles from new in the hands of just four keepers, the current one since 2022, it is a really well-presented bike. There are a few stone chips and slight misting of the headlights to note, but nothing that detracts or wouldn’t be easy to rectify. It has been looked after too, being regularly serviced by Ducati and specialists. It was serviced by Louigi Moto 200 miles ago, work that included fuel lines, belts and checking the valve clearances.
The vendor has said that he will put a new MOT on the bike when it sells
The vendor says:
“Great unmolested example of a 916. The noise is awesome and a beast to ride (in a lovely way!)”
