The Appeal
The ‘K’ in the SLK’s name tells you all you need to know about this car. ‘Kurz’ or ‘short’ means that the R170 is a smaller version of Mercedes’ superb ‘SL’ models, and equally endowed with the comfortable, relaxing and sporting qualities of those bigger cars.
The SLK also got its bigger sibling’s clever folding hard top, meaning these cars work equally as winter coupes and summer convertibles. Most were specified with automatic boxes, but this car offers the very rare and more engaging manual box. It is a good choice, because beneath the SLK’s mini-GT character is a more sporting car.
This early SLK200 has been with its single keeper from new and is in very good condition, Mixing popular Brilliant Silver metallic paintwork with a stand-out black and Scarlet Red interior, it is also well specified.
The car comes to market with a recent Contrôle Technique certificate and plenty of history, including an original bill of sale. It has always been garaged and we are told need no work. It looks ready to enjoy.
