The Appeal
Mercedes-Benz’ CL range harked back to the days of the Gullwing when the firm offered buyers a choice of SL sports car and a bigger, faster version too. The CL’s pillarless style made it look effortless and graceful, which suitable reflected how these most luxurious and comfortable of cars drove.
The C216 from 2006 updated the style and technology but wisely stuck with this proven formula. There were bahnstorming AMG-fettled models but for many buyers the CL600 V12 best reflected the car’s ultra smooth character. It was as quick as the CL63 too, delivering 60mph in 4.6secs if the need and mood arose.
The CL600 is a very rare car in the UK but fortunately we’ve got our hands on one. A very early car it is beautifully finished in Germanit Grey over beige leather with burr walnut accents. Its low mileage is reflected in the condition and supported by a full main dealer service history. This includes a recent bill for £6,000 for servicing, brake and suspension fettling to perfect it for sale.
