The Appeal

Harley’s cruiser-style FXDF Fatbob is well-regarded in the community for its muscle-bike stance and decent handling, but we’re a very long way from that here. This 2008 example is a unique, custom-built show bike, built by Thunderbike in 2020 at a cost of £50,000.

The bike was built for its second keeper, who bought it in 2014. He wanted a showpiece for his tattoo parlour rather than a bike to ride, which likely explains why it has covered just 34 miles since completion, 17 of them recently to get to and from Raw Speed Choppers for an MOT, new battery and full service. The MOT test runs to April 2027 with no advisories.

As you can see in the photos, it is a seriously impressive and definitely imposing bit of kit. The black theme carries through to the fittings, all of which are in virtually ‘as new’ condition due to the limited use. Check the photos, and you’ll spot the Ape Hangers and Thunderbike Lowrider custom wheels amongst other neat details.

The vendor describes the condition as very good throughout and states that it starts and rides like a new machine. Accompanied by all the build invoices from Harley-Davidson, this is a unique motorcycle ready to be ridden and enjoyed by its next owner.

This is a ONE OF ONE COMPLETELY UNIQUE CUSTOM HARLEY DAVIDSON 1584cc V-TWIN FXDF FAT BOB, which has been built by THUNDERBIKE HARLEY DAVIDSON in 2020. If you know who Thunderbike is, then you don't need me to say much more. For those of you who don't, THUNDERBIKE are affiliated with HARLEY DAVIDSON, which transforms the spec and look of your Harley Davidson to something SO SPECIAL and completely out of this world. People can be on a 3-year waiting list to have their bikes modified, and even then, they may not be lucky enough to have it done.

“This is NOT to be confused with anything else out there. This by far exceeds any others you will see for sale. The build took 3 years to complete and cost a staggering £44,000 in 2020, with all invoices present to give to the new owner. Everything was hand-built from scratch. The bike chassis was on approximately 3400 miles when it entered the Harley workshop, in which it was stripped back to bare frame and rebuilt completely from scratch, making this a pretty much new bike when it emerged. Since then, it's done literally 34 miles to date, in which the last 17 miles were done by me this week, getting it home from the recent service, MOT, and full inspection.

“The bike was never intended to be used; it was always a show-stopping piece that would be presented at the front of a tattoo parlour to attract passing attention. A recent M.O.T. was carried out on the bike, which passed with NO Advisories. Starts and rides like a new bike, exactly as you would expect from a bike with 34 miles on the clock. It's also only ever had 1 previous owner from new and includes 2 keys. Both keys are wireless with a Harley alarm system attached to them. The bike is fully HPI Clear with no outstanding finance or accident damage against it. Its almost impossible for me to price this bike, but i think a realistic figure is my asking price. Selling on behalf of an elderly family member.

“I have all invoices from HARLEY for the build, which stacks to over 44k spent on it. This is without the cost of the bike and paint, which then exceeds £50,000. Since it's been to Thunderbike, it's done less than 40 ridden miles, and it's been kept as a display piece, rather than built to be enjoyed and ridden, in which we're hoping we can find a new owner who will do exactly this.

“The bike is currently on 34 miles. I have just had it fully serviced, along with a NEW Battery and a BRAND NEW M.O.T put on it, in which it passed with no advisories as expected. It's had 1 previous owner from new and includes 2 keys. The bike is fully HPI Clear with no outstanding finance or accident damage against it.”
