THE APPEAL
Intended as a collectors’ item from its inception, the Ducati Panigale V4 916 25th Anniversario was introduced in 2019 to mark the silver jubilee of the iconic 916 upon which Carl Fogerty won four Superbike World Championships.
The 25th Anniversario 916 is built on the frame and mechanics of the Ducati Panigale V4 S, upgraded with racing content from the Panigale V4 R such as the Front Frame, designed to Ducati Corse specifications, a dry clutch and track-specific electronics, such as a Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2 gearbox and Ducati EVO 2 Traction Control.
The bike is styled to look like Foggy’s championship winning machine, complete with number 1 race decal and forged magnesium Marchesini Racing wheels, a titanium type-approved Akrapovič exhaust and a several carbon fibre and billeted aluminium components to keep weight down.
Everything you want is here – all of the original books and papers, the V5, the manuals and service booklets. There’s also a gorgeous limited edition art print whose number (35/500) matches that of the bike itself, complemented by an official Certificate of Authenticity from Ducati itself.
Overall, the Ducati is in fabulous condition with no discernible damage to the body, fairing or frame other than one very small scratch on the front fairing that the vendor has a replacement part for and which will be provided as part of the sale. It has stunning Marchesini racing wheels, exposed Brembo brake callipers and Ducati Corse (meaning ‘racing’) decals on both sides.
It is supplied with ‘Foggy’ and Shell Oil decals that came with the bike should you wish to add them to complete the race livery, along with a spare fuel cap and tail-light lens covers.
The Panigale uses Ducati’s Desmosedici 16-valve V4 with around 226hp, giving a 0-60 time of under three seconds and a top speed reputed to be in excess of 190mph. It’s a devilishly quick bike.
This is a bike that was originally built as a collectors’ item and remains one to this day. It’s a fabulous thing with an amazing backstory and is presented exactly as it should be with all of the correct paperwork and neat details such as the art print and certificate of authenticity.
With just 500 25th Anniversarios in circulation globally, this is a very rare opportunity to own one of the most special bikes in the world.
