The Appeal
When Volkswagen launched the Mk5 Golf GTI, it was widely recognised as a true return to form. Many still regard it as the best Golf GTI Volkswagen have ever built, and it’s easy to see why. - Smart black leather upholstery is presented in good condition, with a some wear commensurate with the car’s age, but no damage or tearing apparent

The Exterior
- Black metallic paintwork is in good overall condition, with a few minor blemishes and chips as should be expected
- Last year the rear bumper was damaged by another driver, but has been repaired via the other driver’s insurer and is in ‘as new’ condition now
- Headlight washers working as they should
- Overall, the bodywork is in very fine order, with no damage or corrosion we could discern
- Underneath, everything looks clean, straight and undamaged
- The factory, 18-inch five-spoke alloys have just been refurbished (January 2023) and are in superb condition
- The tyres look to have good tread levels, with the rears being a new pair of Dunlops that were fitted in September 2022
The Mechanics
- 1,984cc FSI turbocharged engine, delivering 200hp to the front wheels
- DSG six-speed transmission
- New cambelt and water pump, fitted by a main dealer in August 2022 at 124,122 miles
- Main service and gearbox service carried out by main dealer in March 2022 at 119,997 miles
- New rear wishbones, lower guide joints, off-side rear brake calliper fitted, along with a four-wheel alignment in September 2022
- We’re assured that the car drives extremely well, pulling strongly, stopping as it should, and with no leaks, smoke or untoward noises

It may be a cliché, but it’s a fact that no other car ticks as many boxes for as many people as a Golf GTI.
