The Appeal
The Austin 7 - often called the 'Baby Austin' - was effectively the British and European Model T. Previously known for their larger motors, the 7 was Austin's economy car for the new age, and an immediate hit. From 1923 to 1939, nearly 300,000 were built - and that's not counting the licensing that seemed to span the world in very short order.
This particular 1932 example, with its distinctive box saloon bodywork, comes to us in a fine two-tone colour scheme with much of its period character proudly on display. Eminently usable, it won't take much to bring this fine vintage up to concourse. Its marvellous two-tone colour scheme, rich cabin and endearing, squat proportions guarantee a real headturner out on the road, or in a car show line up.
