Introduced as the 'Triple Economy' range in 1953, the second generation of the Ford F-Series was a uniquely stylish one - and comprehensive, too. Over the course of their life, these powerful vehicles became everything from pick-ups to tanker trucks - but if you're after a great all-rounder, you'll have trouble finding better than a panel van. 
This 1953 Ford F 100 Panel Van is a classic vehicle that has been thoughtfully updated for modern driving. This particular model has been imported from the USA and is currently registered in Germany with a Historical Plate, and, unusually, is equipped with a 350cui Chevrolet small block and automatic gearbox. The addition of Camaro front and rear suspension improves the road holding.
This vehicle is a practical classic that's ready to be enjoyed on the road. The complete electrical system has been renewed, and the differential, brakes, and suspension have all been updated. It's not all mechanical, either - befitting of the European climate, the interior has been insulated for noise and temperature control!

The Condition

  • Paint and bodywork in good condition with some signs of wear
  • Microscratching across the car
  • Panel roof has been painted with a Harley Davidson design
  • This is a stencil job and adds a lot of character to the van
  • Passenger side window has a crack but does not hinder use
  • Underside is very clean and solid
  • Internally, the cabin is in pleasant order
  • Contrast painted dashboard is bright and well-kept
  • All instruments replaced with modern Dolphin gauges
  • Wood-trimmed Grant GT steering wheel in good order
  • Bench seat has been retrimmed, and presents well
  • Headlining, carpets and rear bay in good condition

The Mechanics

  • 350cui Chevrolet small block V8 powerplant, replacing the original Ford unit
  • Automatic transmission
  • Camaro front and rear suspension with lowered overall profile
  • Fitted with an aluminium radiator and an electric, double-fan cooling system
  • Differential and brakes have been updated
  • Engine bay looks in good order
