The Appeal

After suffering for several years due to lack of investment for several years, Daimler was finally given the go-ahead (and necessary cash) to develop a new model by the mid-1950s and they called it the 104. Outwardly, it looked similar to its predecessor, but underneath the mechanicals and chassis were significantly revised. The 104 would prove to be a very capable car, later morphing into the Majestic in 1958. With its classic styling and spacious interior lined with leather and wood, it was a car for those who liked to put in the miles in comfortable surroundings.

Clearly, this late example is a restoration project, but one that looks solid thanks to careful storage. A few spare parts are included.

The History and Paperwork

We are told that this car was first registered in 1958

The Condition

Two-toned cream and green colour scheme in aged condition as shown in the photos.
Paintwork will require restoration due to long-term storage
Body is complete but will require restoration
The underside shows areas of corrosion which we recommend the buyer inspects
Fitted with mismatched whitewall tyres on steel rims, but the hub caps are missing
Interior appears to be largely complete but door panels are not currently fitted
Interior finished in tan leather with obvious areas of visible deterioration
Extensive woodwork appears to be largely complete but requires refurbishment
Retains rare original features including controls, radio and steering wheel
