The Appeal

The S2 Continental was that most Bentley of convertibles. More of a road-going yacht than a motor car, it oozed style and hand-built charisma.

Just 388 were built by H J Mulliner to a design that was unique to Bentley rather than an adapted Rolls-Royce style. As such these cars are beloved of enthusiasts.

Opportunities to buy them come along rarely because owners tend to hang onto them. Which makes this ’61 a rare buy, particularly in its compelling black and red colour scheme. In very good condition with an exquisite burgundy interior, it is recently imported and will be UK registered by the Vendor prior to handover.

Classic split bonnet harks back to the earlier vintage Bentley models
Well kept interior with sumptuous deep leather front and rear seats in good order
These have been trimmed to a high standard and show no light patina but this adds to character
Veneers appear to have been replaced across the dashboard and are to a good quality
Factory two spoke Bakelite wheel in good order
Carpets in good condition and trimmed to a good standard with replacement black carpets in boot
Modern Bluetooth Pioneer stereo fitted
Aftermarket period air conditioning system fitted under dash with minimal cabin adaption

6,200cc Rolls Royce hand built V8 L410 engine running on carburettors
4spd automatic GM gearbox with column shift
The Vendor informs us that the car runs well, however has not been used in recent years and as such would benefit from a general recommissioning prior to road use.
