With its wood-panelled rear end, the Morris Minor Traveller was an icon of the British road scene from the 1950s to the 1970s – and in many ways it still is today.
Based on the Minor saloon but with a structural timber frame to the rear, the Traveller was an extremely resourceful vehicle in its day and earned its place as one of the nation’s favourite classics. Today it’s one of the most practical classic cars you can buy, as at home earning its keep on dog walks or the tip run as it is at classic car shows.
This one is a late model 1,098cc Traveller, bought by the vendor’s late father in 2015 and restored from a basket case, with the work being carried out in part by the vendor and his father and also by a local classic car specialist. It was repainted in Glacier White from its original blue and was treated to a complete interior retrim in red leatherette.
Offered for sale in excellent overall order, it’s a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of a standard example of one of the UK’s best-loved and most instantly recognisable classics.
