The Appeal
In the annals of brilliant GTs, the 928 is among the very best. Brutally quick, very comfortable, engaging like a sports car and built like a Porsche, it is the companion you want for any long-distance, trans-continental tour.
Later cars are more numerous but the early ‘Series 1’ 4.5L cars are the purest versions of Porsche’s vision. Good ones are in very short supply, but here we have one.
A careful restoration means it presents in very good condition, classically finished in Zinc Silver with a navy and silver cabin. It was maintained by Porsche dealers for the first 30 years of its life then more recently by George Morrison, the Glasgow marque specialist. His work included servicing and a cambelt change. The paintwork was refreshed at a cost of £5,000 in late 2022.
The current keeper acquired this lovely car a year ago and is only selling due to a change of circumstances. It is a truly great example that retains its early features. Buy this and start planning your European adventures immediately.

The Condition
- Navy/Silver leather interior is a time capsule and is in great condition
- All electronics working as they should
- Modern addition of a Pioneer flip screen stereo with phone connectivity, car-play and DAB radio
- New Pioneer speakers fitted
- Cruise control and A/C working well
- No cracking, warping or damage to the dash can be obviously seen and the rest of the interior is in the same great shape
- Rear boot space is ample and underneath the carpet lives the space-saver spare wheel along with tool kit and a battery cut off switch
- Rare Zinc/Silver metallic paint is in amazing condition, beautifully showing off the design of the body
- Over £5000 worth of paintwork at a specialist bodyshop in November 2022
- Pop-up headlights work as intended
- Tele-dial wheels are in great condition and the Dunlop Sport 2000 tyres have good tread left
- All rubbers and seals are reportedly in good condition and there is little to no corrosion around the body – we have tried to show all common areas in the photo gallery for clarity
