The Appeal
While most Land Rovers are equipped with perfectly adequate diesel engines, there's an undeniable draw to a nice V8. This 1993 110 County is endowed with Rover's legendary 3.5-litre unit, and as the photographs show, it incorporates several enticing upgrades.
The vendor says:
"I love her, she’s a real character. A real statement piece that has huge road presence and goes anywhere you want her to. Perfectly drivable, comfortable and pretty nippy at high revs for a 2 tonne work horse.

"Nothing beats a good step on the loud pedal. The engine and exhaust work means she’s loud but not brash with it. Guaranteed to turn heads anywhere (in disgust and glee) and enough to make you smile like an idiot anywhere you drive it.
"Good workhorse too - was more than comfortable trailering and carrying large groups of people."
Amongst the aforementioned upgrades are LED lights and indicators, a modern grill, a REBEL sump guard and bonnet. On the inside, there are now RX8 leather seats, an Alcantara dashboard, and a retracting touchscreen entertainment system with a reversing camera. The Land Rover underwent corrosion treatment and respray in 2019 from green to black and since then, it has covered only 10,000 miles.
The engine was rebuilt in 2014, with parts supplied by Roadcraft UK, followed by a rolling road check by AustecRacing. During the rebuild, the engine block has been refitted with an Edelbrock 4 barrel Carb, and an H180 sports cam with performance gas flow heads. It was then fitted with a custom exhaust from Top Gear Watford
With recent mechanical attention including a clutch cylinder replacement and regular protective underside treatment, this Defender offers classic Land Rover capability with enhanced everyday usability. What more could you ask for?!
