The Appeal
For its fourth generation Supra, Toyota decided to make things less GT and considerably more sporting. There were new engines and a focused approach to delivering a car to match the best from Europe’s sporting elite.
The purposeful A80 looked the part and delivered behind the wheel too. Not that customers were persuaded when it was new - a high price meant sales were always slow. It took a starring role in the Fast & Furious franchise to crank up the desire amongst enthusiasts, who quickly discovered one of the best coupes of the 90s. It’s been riding high ever since.
Just like its Nissan Skyline GTR nemesis, this is a car to drive, enjoy and improve if you want to. This example sits somewhere inbetween having received a comprehensive cosmetic makeover in 2022 - including a bare metal respray in Toyota Moonstone Silver and leather OEM interior - but remains largely mechanically standard.
The TRD-style rear wing and XXR chrome alloys hint at more to come if the buyer wishes. In the meantime, you get a low mileage, well maintained Supra 3L NA in great order. It has been regularly serviced by the enthusiast seller, using specialists, and received a cambelt change in August 2024 by Magnum Performance.
