The Appeal
The Z3 is the classic you can trust. It’s got everything: BMW build and dynamics, stylish retro looks and, in the case of this 2000 car, the superb 230bhp 3L M54 straight six.
This car was factory ordered using the ‘Individual’ package which provided bespoke colour options, in this case smart Topaz Blue metallic paintwork with matching roof and two-tone blue and black interior. It looks great and is pleasingly factory original, including the five spoke alloys.
With just four keepers from new and under 48,000 miles, it is in very good order. The usual Z3 check areas such as arches, sills and panel edges present very well. The service book shows 12 stamps, most recently in 2023. The car has covered few miles since. The MOT runs to January 2026.
If you know the Z3, you’ll know that the 3L is the one you want. If all this is new to you, let us recommend a convertible that does what a classic does, but without the usual classic ‘idiosyncrasies.’
The vendor says:
“Beautiful car, increasingly popular as a weekend car. The 3.0L variant gives plenty of power and low-down torque. Drives beautifully on long motorway drives and is just as exciting on a country road. Likes to go sideways all the time, no matter the weather. No surprise with a 230 bhp rear-wheel drive car. The engine is always reliable and doesn't drink too much oil for a BMW. Everyone enjoys the Z3 as a car enthusiast or not; it catches the eye of everyone. It's inconspicuous but still manages to keep up with modern-day sports cars. Pure sports car with little to no electrical assistance, manual transmission and rear wheel drive, what's not to love?”
