The Appeal
The third-generation Bentley Continental has been on sale since 2003, and early versions are now becoming classic cars despite offering contemporary design and performance. It’s easy to forget how coveted the Continental GT was in the Noughties, particularly when specified with an effective colour palette like the black-and-black finish of this much-loved 2005 model.
Bentleys shrug off high mileages like few other cars, but there are some natural signs of wear across this Continental’s cabin. These include patina and surface scratches across the centre console and wear across the front seats. However, everything remains factory-original, with no aftermarket modifications to dilute the cabin’s purity. This is also true of the exterior, where black metallic paint displays a few imperfections but is accurately described as being “very presentable and retaining a good shine”.
Bentley branding is reprised everywhere from the oil filler cap and brake pads to the headrests and door sills. The leather-bound handbook and service booklet are particularly pleasing inclusions, while the matching quilted black leather seats with their contrast stitching are in superb condition considering the car’s six-figure mileage, remaining supple and free from rips. This car is being sold due to its owner’s recent death, and a friend who is handling the sale believes “the interior continues to offer the luxurious, refined cabin Bentley is renowned for”.
Over £6,000 has recently spent on mechanical maintenance, resulting in a car described as "mechanically strong” and benefiting from extensive recent maintenance. The engine reportedly “starts and runs smoothly, the gearbox shifts correctly, and the car drives as it should.” With a desirable colour combination supported by a stamped service book and specialist invoices demonstrating consistent upkeep from new, this fully original Continental GT represents a truly rare proposition.
