1960 Austin Healey 3000 For Sale
The big Healey's started production in 1953 with the 100/ 4. The engine in these vehicle were a four cylinder 2. 6 liter. A new grill and a 2. 6 liter straight six engine was introduced in 1957. In 1959 the 2. 6 liter engine was replaced with the 3. 0 liter straight six. When the Healey 3000 came out, it came with disc brakes in the front instead of the traditional drums. These 3. 0 engines produced 124 horsepower. There was two different styles that could be bought, either the two seater or the four seater. In 1961 the Healey 3000 MkII came out with triple carburetors which bumped the engine horsepower up to 132. In late 1962 the two seater versions were dropped, wind up windows were added and the revised twin carburetors made an additional couple horsepower on the previous MkII's. The last version of the Healey 3000 was the MkIII BJ8. Horsepower again was up from the previous years and the interior was completely revised.
1960 Austin Healey 3000 BT7. This big Healey had been stored in a barn for many years. As far as we know the engine is original and the transmission. It comes with an overdrive transmission. We poured some fuel into the carburetors and got it to start. Has factory disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. Comes with a factory hardtop which is rare to find. It does not have a convertible top frame. This vehicle is equipped with wire wheels.
The interior on the vehicle is there but will require restoring. Has the original front bucket seats and the rear seats. The dash on the vehicle is original and hasn't been cut up. The factory gauges are still there with the vehicle. Original steering wheel is there and the car rolls and steers. Windshield is cracked and will require a new one. The vehicle is fairly solid and would be a great candidate for restoration. Comes with a clean title. Has some loose parts that come with the car.
