Beskrivning
Another masterpiece from Giugiaro’s design was originally produced in 1971 and critically acclaimed as one of the best driving hot hatches produced.
Many derivatives were built and by the 1980s Alfa had to keep up with the competition, and the power increased with this version so with only 800kg this meant a super fun car to drive.
Of course, build quality was always an issue and in the late 1980s built cars finally received better quality metal and rustproofing giving a chance of longevity if maintained correctly.
This beautiful example lived in Italy with only one owner until 2022 and I specifically imported it due to its originality , the preservation is vital in these hot climate examples and UK-used cars are not as original normally having had extensive restoration.
Recommissioning at an Alfa specialist after a period of dry storage included: New radiator, cambelts and tensioners, new tyres, fuel tank, pump, silicone hoses, 123Ignition and leads radio, master cylinders, major all fluids service etc. over £4000 spent . She has covered 10, 000 kms reliably over the past 3 years in the UK
Extensive professional Dinitrol cavity treatment ensures she is prepared for reliable daily use.
This example has not suffered from normal Sud welding repairs and is as immaculate on the underside and inner wheel arches etc as the paintwork
What a great car to drive proving that lightweight design, uncomplicated spec a great boxer engine and sorted chassis are all you need to have great driving enjoyment.
This is a rare car today and only a handful are for sale so with low miles it’s a superb opportunity for the serious collector.
