The Appeal
The W123 is one of the best-engineered saloons ever built, and here’s the proof. This car is a highly preserved 1977 car with the sturdy and economical 5cyl 88bhp diesel engine. Finished in cream with a very original MB Tex black interior, it has been used for weddings and events by the current seller.
As you might expect of a car used for weddings, it is in fine condition and has been very well maintained. It comes to market with recently renewed Portugal technical inspection and a fresh service. The fuel system was serviced and the exhaust replaced at the same time.
Whether you choose to exploit this remarkable survivor’s obvious commercial potential or enjoy it as an economical, stylish daily driver, it looks a proper treat for the enthusiast.

Vehicle History (Taxi Configuration Clarification):
The vendor says:
Although the vehicle has a taxi-style configuration, available records confirm that it was never licensed or used as a taxi.
- It never obtained a taxi operating license
- Ownership records show no commercial use
- The COC does not indicate any commercial or taxi service assignment
- The COC mentions a previous registration, but if the vehicle had been used as a taxi, this would also be reflected in the COC documentation
“All evidence strongly indicates that the vehicle was always for private individual use only.”
"Mileage Provenance (200,000 km): In Portugal, the official digital registry for technical inspections (IPO) was only fully implemented around 2002. Therefore, I can document the mileage progression with official records for the last 24 years. However, the exceptional condition of the original MB-Tex interior, the mechanical state, and the "Vehicle of Historical Interest" certification all corroborate the authenticity of the total 200,000 km.
"Sunroof: The car is equipped with a sunroof, but it is currently kept closed/disengaged by choice. This was a preventive measure to ensure the cabin remains 100% leak-free and to preserve the pristine interior condition.
"Certification and Climate: I would like to emphasize that the car holds an official "Certificate of Historical Interest" and has spent its entire life in Portugal’s dry climate. This explains why the car is a very solid, rust-free example."
