The Appeal

Ardie’s combination of a German frame, British JAP engine, and tough Burman gearbox makes these robust, premium pre-war touring bikes a favourite with collectors. The later Jubilee was introduced to celebrate the firm’s 10th anniversary and added marginally more power, nicer aesthetics and an Amal carburettor.

This very early Jubilee is paired with a gorgeous Ardie sidecar. It is a pretty arrangement that is in great condition. We particularly like the detailing, including the Castrol oil tank and the rear metal storage boxes.

The vendor says he added this bike to his collection in 2008. Since then, the engine has been rebuilt, and we are told that the combination runs and rides well. A rare treat for fans of these neatly engineered pre-war tourers, especially in this bike and sidecar combination.
