The Appeal
When WW2 came to a close, MG were left cash-strapped and eager to take advantage of the blossoming sports car market. They didn't have time nor resource for new styling, so they turned their eyes to the pre-war silhouette of the T-Type. It was an impressive USP - a fearlessly old-fashioned roadster with a perky straight-four engine and a comfortable cabin.
This 1953 car is a particularly solid one, that's never been welded and has been very nicely kept. Presented in an attractive ivory livery with a beige leather cabin, this TD retains a beautiful patina that showcases its authentic character while benefiting from comprehensive mechanical refurbishment. With matching numbers and documented maintenance history from TGA Oldtimer Centrum Aachen, this handsome TD ticks plenty of boxes.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
