The Appeal
The Singer SM Roadster 4AD represents one of the first generations of post-war British open-top touring cars. With its 1,497 cc four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox, it's particularly suited to leisurely drives and fine-weather outings.
This 1953 example comes from a private collection and is said to retain, according to the seller, a high degree of authenticity and originality. Its colour combination, with English green bodywork and beige leather interior, is consistent with period aesthetics. The chassis, underside and bodywork are described as very sound and solid, with no apparent signs of previous major repairs or accidental damage.
Mechanically, the car is said to have driven to the seller's premises under its own steam. The seller reports that the engine starts easily both cold and hot, and that the brakes, suspension and clutch function correctly. No work or restoration has been carried out by the current seller, with the car offered in its current state.104_1755 pieter monteny.JPG2.04 MB
