Since its introduction in the early 20th century, the pickup truck has been the go-to choice for millions of blue-collar workers across the world, especially in the United States. The romance of owning a pickup has become embedded in the American way of life, it represents the hard working and the American dream, especially to those with more of a country upbringing.
One manufacturer that has become more than an expert in the production of desirable pick-up trucks is, of course, Chevrolet. Launching its first truck in 1918, the manufacturer has gone on to produce over 85 million trucks in various designs and with various capabilities. The post-war era was what really propelled the manufacturer to elite status, the Advanced Design Trucks were revolutionary and introduced a new fresh look and more modern equipment such as a radio and fresh-air heater.
The popularity of these trucks led to the release of the Task-Force generation, where the exterior was updated with a new look and further luxury was added. During this time, Chevy outsold all other manufacturers and the legacy began.
This 1955 3200 step-side example is a pretty example of that Task-Force generation, benefiting from a historic restoration which has kept the vehicle very original in appearance with a few tasteful touches. An attractive reminder of a spectacular American automotive era, this Chevy was previously owned by an enthusiast who requested the current owner to keep the vehicle original as possible and that's exactly what's been done.
With a few characteristic-adding blemishes and age-related patina, this truck would make an exceptional head-turning addition to any enthusiast's garage and a great truck to take to shows and meets.
