The Appeal

Affectionately known as the ‘Gruner Elefant’ for its near-relentless, tractor-like pulling power, Zundapp’s KS601 got its nickname from its the distinctive lime green paintwork that made the earliest models such a sight on post-war German roads.

This 1951 features the more classic and perhaps dignified black and gold paint scheme that was a common choice for high end German touring bikes of this era. It is in very good order and pleasingly factory correct and complete.

Recently released from an extensive classic bike collection, this is a fine example of one of the best touruing bikes of the immediate post-war era.
