The Appeal
The original C1 was a great idea, but it really only became a great car during its long production run thanks to a serious of judicious changes that made it faster and much better. That’s why the final year cars are really the one to have - they got the larger 5.4L 327CI version of Chevy’s small block V8, which was good for 250bhp in standard form. This is where the idea of America’s sports car really came to fruition.
This 1962 C1 naturally has that engine, but adds a compelling ‘black on black’ colour scheme to its appeal. It also features the desirable 4spd manual box. The vendor describes the paintwork as ‘popping’ and looking at the photos, where the paint accents the chrome, it’s hard to disagree.
The car is in good, straight and usable condition and looks perfect for some summer driving.
