The Appeal

Pietro Frua’s pretty Floride was the car Renault hoped to master America with. Beneath the sculptural lines lay conventional running gear that made this glamorous convertible surprisingly easy to own.

This restored 1962 car is one of the ‘R1131’ series Floride S models with the 956cc Sierra engine. It has been extensively restored across the bodywork and mechanicals and comes with a vast archive of restoration photographs.

Supplied with a choice of soft top or rare dark blue hard top, this Floride is a timely reminder of the sort of individual and stylish cars Renault was building in the 60s. With that robust running gear, it offers the buyer an intriguing alternative to more common Italian and British 60s roadsters.
