This 1963 Opel Rekord Coupé forms part of the carefully curated Blaauwbank Collection, which includes an eclectic mix of multi-generational cars, stored in purpose-built, climate-controlled dry-storage hangars in the arid climate of Central South Africa.

Suffice it to say, the two-door Opel Rekord "Olympia" coupe is a rare beast. You'd be forgiven for never having heard of it, let alone seen one.

Produced in relatively modest numbers during the early 1960s, survivors in any condition are thin on the ground. Finding one that remains unrestored and in honest, original condition is rarer still. This left-hand-drive example from 1963 is just such a car.

Showing 117,160 km on the odometer, believed by the vendor to be correct, this Rekord has had just one former registered keeper. The vendor describes it as an untouched survivor with a very sound body and states that it drives beautifully.
