The Appeal
Pre-1965 trials bikes remain highly sought after, eligible for numerous competitive off-road events which take place all over the UK. This 1963 Triumph TR20 Tiger 'Trials' Cub is exactly the sort of classic skilled trials riders are after. This lightweight, single-cylinder machine did particularly well in scrambles and trials in period and is a popular entrant to this day.
As the photographs show, this bike requires assembly, although its constituent parts have been clearly been restored in the past to a high standard. The seller’s late husband acquired the Triumph in 2008 from Ian Roberts Motorcycle Engine Specialist, Serco. After riding it a couple of times, he set about dismantling the motorcycle, placing it carefully into storage in the attic of his garage.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to put together your own pre-65 trials bike, this is a compelling project.
