Why we love it
The Panhard PL17 is one of the most distinctive French sedans from the early 1960s. Its air-cooled flat-twin engine, rear-wheel drive, and streamlined bodywork set it clearly apart from its contemporaries, and the Comfort trim provides a well-appointed cabin worthy of its name. Today, these characterful machines are attracting growing interest from collectors of French automobiles “off the beaten track.”
This 1964 model was acquired about two years ago from a collector. The seller specifies that the bodywork and upholstery are in excellent condition, even though a few spots of rust are noted, along with general signs of wear described as consistent with the normal wear you’d expect for a car of this age. On the mechanical side, they say it fires up on the first turn of the key, and that a new battery was recently fitted.
