Triumph's handsome 'TR' models have long been the sensible alternative to their Midlands rivals – MG among them. Rugged and reliable, they've enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic, on tarmac as well as gravel. But it was the IRS introduction that gave the car handling to match its straight-line speed.
This elegant 1965 TR4 IRS is, according to the seller, a matching-numbers model. It is said to have been repainted in 1993 in the original colour, a job that has held up well as the photos show. The seller acquired the car in 2023 and has kept it garaged. Recent works include a new brake servo and a new steering rack and a full service. The vehicle is validated by an MOT valid until December 2027.
