The Appeal
The W113 with the 2.5L straight six M129 fuel injection engine is how Mercedes-Benz conceived its new ‘Sports Leicht’ tourer. Add in the automatic gearbox, as here, and you get a stylish and comfortable cruiser that is perfect for munching long-distance miles.
This silver 1967 250SL was first registered in Germany in May of that year before arriving in the Uk in 2018. The current keeper acquired it in 2020, intending to use it at his home in France. To that end, in early 2021, it was dispatched to The SL Shop for checks and overhaul. His plans changed, and the car has covered only 400 miles since, spending most of its time in careful dry storage.
Further work has included a seat retrim, in smart black with silver stitching, and a new rear screen for the soft top. The car is sold with its matching factory hard top.
This pretty, well-specified car has the sort of appealing specification and recent history to suit Pagoda enthusiasts who like to get out and enjoy their car.
