An amazing survivor 250S offering stunning originality and character
Boasting its original paintwork and interior and in a ready to go condition
Mechanically recommissioned by its current owner with original parts
The Appeal
The Paul Bracq-designed W108 was launched at the 1965 Frankfurt Auto Show with three models initially available along with one long wheelbase option (the W109). The cars carried forward the marque’s reputation for impeccably engineered, refined and comfortable autobahn expresses.
This example is so interesting for having a highly original presentation both inside and out. So much so, in fact, that it is easy to assume the car has enjoyed a thorough restoration. It’s that good. For its age the car offers a sensible original mileage equating to less than 2,000 miles a year on average. The current owner was able to locate the original spares he needed in Germany to mechanically recommission the car around 10 years ago.VlPonkwKLzAEjTShUhzU0v6r2bbEhxZB8Rx0ouI3.jpg449.58 KB

The Mercedes Benz 250S was never a common sight on UK roads. It harks from a period when Mercedes cars were a leftfield and somewhat exotic choice for connoisseurs who appreciated their peerless engineering values. Although near 75,000 250S were built, a tiny fraction of these would have made it to the UK. Today these cars are vanishingly rare, especially in a pristine and original condition.
This example is stunning in its originality. Long periods in storage have clearly benefitted its condition and kept the mileage decidedly modest for a Mercedes Benz of this vintage. It looks like a restored example such is the exterior and interior condition. The car has enjoyed a sympathetic recommissioning with diligently sourced original parts. A fine and impressive example that must be, surely, one of the best original examples available.
