The Appeal
The Sunbeam Rapier Fastback is one of the more stylish and underappreciated British coupés of the late 1960s, with its distinctive pillarless fastback profile setting it apart from the crowd. Survivors in original condition are increasingly scarce, making this 1969 example a noteworthy find.
Dry-stored for approximately 10 years by its previous owner, this Rapier was acquired by the current owner in 2024, who has since invested hundreds of hours in a thorough recommissioning. The front suspension has been fully rebuilt, the brakes overhauled, and all fluids and filters renewed. New tyres have been fitted all round. A Webasto sunroof is a coveted period feature that makes it well-suited to summer motoring. There are some cosmetic imperfections to note, detailed below, and the original carpets would benefit from replacement. With a valid advisory-free MOT in place, this rare Rapier Fastback is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
