The Appeal
The 1971 Dodge Challenger is arguably one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time, combining aggressive styling with genuine performance credentials that made it a symbol of pure, golden age Americana. As one of the most legendary cars from the golden era of Detroit iron, the Challenger has become increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide - a time before ever-tightening regulations ruined the fun.
This particular example benefits from a comprehensive restoration completed in 2016/17 by Don Franklin Chrysler. Since its importation to the UK in 2022, the car has been entrusted to the care of Ric Wood Motorsport who rebuild engines for the TV show Car SOS, who has serviced it annually and tuned it on a rolling road to ensure optimal performance. The current owner has invested significantly in the car, including a complete electrical re-wire with new dash harness, new rear shock absorbers, brake calipers, discs and pads, plus a new fuel pump and air/fuel regulator.
With its Hemi Orange engine block, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes, this is the ideal car for those seeking a generous slice of American muscle with documented restoration history and a rather unique bit of provenance with its mechanic. Not one to miss!DSC00769 Lewis Foord.jpg842.29 KB
