The Appeal
This Mulliner Park Ward Coupe is a vanishingly rare gem. Boasting beautiful bodywork, hand-crafted for Rolls-Royce by the legendary coachbuilders Mulliner Park Ward, the two-door Shadow was soon to become a fixture of Crewe's repertoire - and was set to become the ever-enduring Corniche.Only 369 RHD examples were ever built between 1966 and 1971, and this is one of the very last ever made. In 1971, production was brought in-house by Rolls-Royce, and the model was officially granted the Corniche name. That makes this an incredibly scarce piece of retro luxury.
This particular example has been meticulously maintained and cherished by its current owner for the past decade. It underwent a comprehensive £40,000 restoration in 2008, including a bare metal respray in its original factory colour and a full re-chrome. The car's elegant dark Oxford Blue paintwork and walnut dashboard are still resplendent, with the leather interior having a settled level of patina that perfectly suits the car. This adds a lived-in elegance that's likely to prove irresistible for the lucky buyer.
The most recent service and routine maintenance was carried out less than 100 miles ago at a cost of £3,360. Prior to that, the very dedicated vendor had the entire hydraulic brake system overhauled, as well as other repairs and improvements, at a cost exceeding £10,000.
Put simply, this is a remarkably well-maintained, scarce luxury car that's got just about everything going for it. What more could you hope for? 20230925_142222.jpg1.79 MB
