The Appeal
The Touring was a clever evolution of the brilliant 2002. The fastback styling straddled coupe and hatchback styling and gave this most engaging of cars mini-GT capability. Naturally it was fitted with the more powerful 2L M10 engine.
This very pretty Touring has spent much of its life on the Isle of Man, where it was first registered in November 1972. It was extensively restored three years ago. The work included a full strip down, bodywork restoration and respray in correct burgundy. It remains usefully factory standard, right down to the chrome steel wheels with their BMW hub caps.
Since completion the car has been carefully dry stored and little used. That has preserved the condition, which you can see in the photos.
Here is a chance to capitalise on all that hard work and investment. With its manual box and peppy engine, this promises to be a practical and hugely engaging buy.
