The Appeal
It's arguable that the Karmann Ghia is one of the most beautiful cars to carry Wolfsburg's lineage. This was a beguiling combination of Ghia's flowing Italian coachwork, Karmann craftsmanship, and the proven mechanicals of the Beetle. Produced between 1955 and 1974, the Type 14 Coupe offered sports-car looks with the air-cooled simplicity that made the Beetle so dependable. In Germany it earned the affectionate nickname "the Housewife Porsche," yet its lines, penned by Luigi Segre, remain genuinely striking to this day.
This 1972 example comes to us in a lesser-spotted black-over-red, complemented by white wall tyres. Imported from the USA and now on UK plates, it is a rare sight on British roads and, according to the vendor, draws regular attention from passers-by.
It's a fine example of a truly glamorous classic - and we're sure it'll charm its lucky new owner. image.png1.97 MB
