The Appeal
The British-made Devon Moonraker is among the most cherished of the VW Type 2 campervan conversions, renowned for its thoughtful layout, which has inspired an enduring popularity.
This 1972 example, affectionately known to its owner as Neptune, has had just one former registered keeper before the current custodian, who has enjoyed it for the past decade on camping trips, day trips, and family outings.
Inside, the interior remains largely original, only the seat cushions have been reupholstered, and it is well-equipped for touring. The vendor describes the bodywork as being in very good condition, with only a few small patches of corrosion and the odd bubble in the paint. A new exhaust system has been fitted, and the vendor states it runs beautifully, having started first time this week after five months in winter storage. Carefully dry-stored in a warehouse each winter, this appears to be a commendably original and well-looked-after Devon Moonraker with further scope to make it very nice indeed.2af27edd-90c8-4989-a1c1-f3a3e5533853.jpg187.22 KB
