The Appeal
Introduced in 1969, the Daimler Sovereign was a close cousin of the Jaguar XJ6, featuring an enhanced interior specification and Daimler's trademark fluted exterior trims. This 1973 example is a late Series I with the 4.2-litre XK engine and an automatic gearbox. Resplendent in the oh-so period hue of 'Lavender Blue', this Daimler has been restored to its original factory specifications and presents impeccably as a result.
Since then, the current owners have maintained it well, using the car regularly for short trips, and it comes with a full service history. With its elegant styling and executive presence, this Sovereign has been advertised for filming and photo shoots for which it has reportedly been very popular.
The vendor comments:
"This beauty has been restored to original specification by the previous owner just 2 to 3 years ago. We regularly use this historic vehicle for short trips and she is a real head turner. She comes with a full service history and is heavily protected against corrosion all over. Brakes, fuel tanks, fuel pumps, dashboard, all recently serviced and restored. No sign of corrosion anywhere and runs sweet.
"A real executive car in its day, today this car would make an ideal wedding car."
