The MG Midget was one of the last bastions of the classic British sports car - and what a bastion it was. These cars are the epitome of fun on the road - fast, agile and lightweight, with perky performance and a fine resilience of line. By the 4th generation, times were-a-changing, and emissions demands were throttling back the A-Series that the car had carried for over a decade.
Reverting to the mechanics from the Triumph Spitfire, the Midget also garnered great big plastic bumpers - which upset the lines a bit, admittedly, but made it much more internationally friendly. They also pumped up the ride height, and added anti roll bars. The Midget's essential character was changed a little, but it still had a dedicated audience - and these late stage cars are still every bit the potent, fun drop-top roadster.
This fine example was restored in 2020 and comes complete with MOT. It's been little used in recent years and is a simply superb roadster from top to bottom. Restored with its original chrome bumpers, and fitted with new Minilites, it's a superb little classic that's ready for its lucky new keeper. image.png3.79 MB
