1978 MG MGB

Highlights

  • In current ownership for over 10 years
  • Matching serial numbers confirmed
  • Good service history
  • Belgian-registered with a standard carte grise

The Appeal

The MGB remains one of the most beloved British sports cars of its era, offering a rewarding blend of engaging driving dynamics and timeless styling - and when a car becomes almost ubiquitous with the traditional British roadster, it's naturally bound to to go international. Today, it's a globally recognisable classic. This 1978 example, originally supplied to the US market, has since been converted from the much-maligned rubber bumpers to the more traditionally styled chrome.
In the current owner's hands since November 2025, this MGB benefits from a period of attentive prior ownership stretching back to 2012. The vendor reports that the engine runs well and starts reliably, while the four-speed-plus-overdrive gearbox is described as smooth and pleasant to use. The interior presents well in cognac brown, and the black paintwork, applied more than a decade ago, remains in respectable order though it would reward a thorough polish.

It's ultimately an honest, well-maintained car and well worth your attention.
