The Appeal
Here is a chance for the buyer to celebrate two of Britain’s greatest motorised achievements - the pretty, long-lived BGT and our own supersonic Concorde. It’s all thanks to one of this car’s previous keepers who flew on Concorde under the command of Captain David C Ross.
The unique tribute has been done with considerable taste, cleverly aping some of the style and colour scheme of the final factory ‘LE’ cars, but with a notable Concorde-themed twist. The orange decals suit the car’s black paintwork and suit the factory orange fabric ‘deck chair’ interior.
The car is in really good, nicely preserved condition. The vendor tells us that it has been little used over the last 25 years, covering just 2,000 miles. The displayed mileage is 42,300 miles, which the vendor suspects is correct, but this has not been verified. He has undertaken a sympathetic recommissioning to ready it for the next keeper, including new bushes, kingpins, ball joints, hoses, HT leads, plugs, distributor cap and a stainless steel exhaust system. The vendor states it drives with no knocks or rattles and starts without hesitation.
Accompanied by a history file of bills, previous MOTs, the original service book and assorted Concorde memorabilia, this is a characterful and well-sorted MGB GT that appears ready to be enjoyed immediately.
The vendor says:
This is probably the best driving MGB I have driven, and as well as looking stunning, it is in excellent overall condition.
Overall, this is a lovely, well-cared-for, solid, and great-looking MG BGT in excellent condition and ready to enjoy.
